Do you love the look of knitting simultaneously with two colours (stranded or fair isle knitting), but have hesitated to start a project because of not knowing how it works or how to manage two yarns at the same time? This is your chance to explore and get comfortable with stranded knitting!
We will be using the Leftovers Cowl by Wendy D. Johnson (either cowl or scarf) to learn stranded knitting.
In no time, you’ll be whizzing along! The cowl version begins with a provisional cast-on and is knit in the round so that you can graft the beginning stitches to the end to make a tube. You can also make the scarf version, also knit as a tube, but with each end bound off separately.
This is a perfect project to use up small amounts of leftover fingering weight yarn, but we also have lots of mini skeins available, perfect for playing with colour! We recommend choosing a full skein (or two) to use as a base, and then adding as many other colours as you like with mini skeins.
