It happens to every knitter – a mistake! You already know how to recognize and fix simple mistakes, such as dropped, or wrong stitches, and you know how to “tink.” You even know some tips for preventing mistakes before they happen.
But this one is, yikes, a BIG mistake! You’ve just realized that your lace pattern went wrong several rows back – or that your cable 20 rows (and 3 cables) down is twisted the wrong way. Or disaster has struck - your needle just fell apart in the middle of a very long, complicated row, and all of a sudden, your stitches are unravelling before your horrified eyes. Are you tempted to just toss the whole thing? Or do you have to wait until a really, really kind friend is both willing and able to rescue your ailing project?
What if you knew how to fix the mistake yourself, focussing on just the problem area – without having to rip WAY back? If you’d like to learn how, this class is for you. We will be learning a method for fixing more complicated mistakes in both lace and cable projects – otherwise known as “knitting surgery.”
(Note: some advance homework required – “gone wrong” pattern for a swatch of lace and/or cable knitting will be provided.)
